Educational Concerns in the Time of Hybrid & Distance Learning

A Round Robin Q&A

Presenter: Carole Pakkala, MA, CAS

Up to 25 parents/caregivers

Whether children will be in school buildings, in their homes, a combination of both, or shifting among three different education models, one thing is certain. Life and learning will be more complex this fall. In this webinar, special education advocate Carole  Pakkala, MA, CAS, will address educational concerns in a hour of round robin questions and answers.

Carole Pakkala, MA, CAS, a special education advocate, has extensive and varied special education teaching experience in both public and private school, as well as 15 years’ experience as a special education administrator in CT public schools. Carole’s understanding of an individual student’s learning characteristics and learning styles, linked with her knowledge of effective teaching practices, help her serve as a student-centered, solutions-oriented problem solver within the special education arena. She served as special education administrator for the New Canaan Public Schools, where she oversaw all aspects of middle and high school special education programs. Prior to holding that position, she provided direct instruction as a special education teacher for high school students with learning and behavioral needs, targeting post-secondary outcomes, including college readiness, social skills, and independent living skills. As well as working as a parent advocate with Collaborative Advocacy Associates, Westport, CT, Carole currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Special Education Program at the University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford, where she teaches courses in assessment, learning adaptations, and reading instruction.
