Children's Activity Room for Children's Author Readings
Indie Author Day2018-10-13T09:00:00The Library welcomes experienced and aspiring independent authors, who will have tables set-up in a Book Showcase around the Library and are invited to share their stories with readers and other writers. Books will also be available for purchase and signing. Authors can collaborate to discuss strategies for getting independently published books in libraries and bookstores; marketing; design; and of course, writing. A reading area will be set-up on the Main Level for brief author presentations and authors and illustrators of children's books will be reading to children throughout the day.
This year the library will be hosting over 40 authors with books written for children, YA and adult audiences in both non-fiction and fiction. Indie Author Day 2018, October 13, will be a day to celebrate the written word, to celebrate storytellers and to celebrate our Connecticut writers.
With this event, the library seeks to provide a way for writers to connect and celebrating their work.
