The Norwalk Public Library Children's Department is hosting our second talent showcase on August 12 @ 2 pm in the auditorium. If you are a child between the ages of 5-13 who loves to sing, dance, play an instrument, tell jokes or has other special skills, please share them with us! We would love to showcase your talents! Online registration is required by August 10, 2018 and can be accessed through our website. Performances are limited to three minutes per act. Performers are responsible for their own props, rehearsals, and stage preparations. There will be one dress rehearsal prior to the performance day and all participants will be notified. We look forward to a very entertaining afternoon and encourage everyone to "break a leg!"

Norwalk photographer Karen Spencer will have an exhibition of her work at the Main Belden Street Branch of the Norwalk Library from August 12 to Sept. 30 .
There will be an opening reception on Sunday, August 12 from 3 to 5 pm.
She will speaking about her book at 3:30
Karen, a NYC native, attended The City College of CUNY, has lived in Norwalk for 35 years, and served on the Norwalk Zoning Commission for six years.
She enjoyed an extensive career as graphic designer and art director for publishing companies, advertising and promotion agencies in New York, New Orleans and CT, as well as her own company Spencer Graphics.
This will mark the tenth year she has spent six months in Mexico, in an area near Guadalajara known as Lake Chapala, the largest lake in Mexico. It’s a popular expat retirement haven, at 5,000 feet altitude with near-perfect weather year round. It’s a blossoming art center with an active Arts Society, many galleries and shows.
