ArtScapades returns to the Norwalk Public Library with European ‘isms’ which looks at the progression of Modern Art in Europe, covering important artists including Munch, Kandinsky, Chagall, and Dalí. This lecture talks about their lives and works, and introduces the art ‘isms’ of the time as they relate to these artists.
The goal of ArtScapades is that you will develop the means to critique a work of art while learning art history and art appreciation. You will come away with both an understanding of these artists and their works, as well as the tools to effectively explore galleries and museums.
ArtScapades will return to the Norwalk Public Library on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 with Modern American Beginnings: From Beautiful to Gritty and on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 with The American Scene: From Regionalism to Roosevelt.
Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998.
