Bird Migration with Chris Bosak

Thursday, May 13, 2021

May is arguably the best month for birdwatching in New England as millions of colorful migrating songbirds return to the region from their southern wintering grounds. Some of these birds will stop in New England only long enough to refuel before heading farther north to their breeding grounds in Canada or the Arctic. Many of these birds, however, will find a parcel of land in New England to breed and raise their young. Warblers, orioles, tanagers, grosbeaks and vireos are among the colorful birds that will pass through or settle in New England during May. Chris Bosak is a New England-based nature writer and photographer. He has written his weekly “For the Birds” column continuously for various Newspapers for nearly 25 years. While birds are the primary focus of the column, he also writes about other types of wildlife, land conservation, and the Importance of getting children involved with nature and the outdoors.
