Written and Performed by Prudence Wright Holmes Miep Gies was a 32 year old secretary in Otto Frank's office when he asked her to help him and his family hide from the Nazis. She immediately said yes. At great risk to her own life, she bought food and other supplies to the Franks on a daily basis for over two years. After the Franks were arrested, she save Anne's diary and later went to Gestapo Headquarters and tried to buy the Frank's freedom. Miep was knighted by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands and later attended the Academy Awards in 2010 where she won an Oscar for the film based on her book Remembering Anne Frank. Students and other library visitors will have the opportunity to engage with Discovery Museum staff in Engineering Design asking questions, brainstorming solutions, building prototypes, testing, evaluating, and redesigning their own paper rockets. The Norwalk Public Library is pleased to offer a new Low Impact Aerobics class led by instructor Linda Lombardo, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m., in the Main Auditorium located at 1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk. . Known to local residents for her work as a Silver Sneakers instructor, Linda has been a Business Education teacher with the New Canaan, Norwalk, Fairfield, Greenwich and Stamford Public School Systems for over 20 years. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a health fitness instructor, personal trainer and nutrition counselor. Wives of Henry VIII Jane Seymour Henry VIII, King of England from 1509 to 1547, was married six times. Please join us as er explore the lives of four of his wives, who left more than a passing influence on his life. Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, and Jane Seymour, his first three wives, produced the next generation of the Tudor Dynasty. Catherine Parr, his last wife, provided his three children with a family life. A light lunch will be provided by the Library.
