  1. Chinese Nursery Rhymes and Stories

    January 15, 2020, 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM @ Children's Activity Room

    This rhymes and stories program is designed for children 2-4 years old. The children younger than 2 are also welcome, but may not benefit as much. The content includes Chinese rhymes, stories, and drawing. It focuses on encouraging children to build up good habits, developing basic math counting skills, identifying colors, shapes and animals as well as developing Chinese speaking skills. The class will be in Chinese, and with TRP, flashcards, pictures and objects. The videos will be limited, and audios of rhymes will be encouraged.   2. Preschool Storytime

    Children from the ages of 3-5 years old will have fun engaging with books, songs & activities as they build their early literacy skills.     To Kick Off our 2020 AuthorSpeak Series, we are presenting a double bill of two authors! Neile Parisi is the author of Today My Name is Billie based upon an incident in her life as an eight grade teacher. Every Year thousand of educators are accused of physical abuse. Some guilty and are prosecuted, but hundreds who are innocent are forced to surrender their licenses. Today My Name is Billie reveals how a single lie can spread like fire and destroy all that it touches. The Undertake is Laura Del Gaudio's lively story of learning and family business from under the kitchen table as a child. It is a story about suffering, and also about family, community, healing, triumph and what it means to be loyal. A light lunch will be provided by the Library.
